“For the love of creativity, for the love of puppetry” is the Center’s core ideal. We hope to introduce our friends, young and old alike, to the history and development of puppetry, both traditional and contemporary, in Taiwan and around the world, and to encourage everyone to explore your creativity, using materials from everyday life to make your own unique hand puppets, shadow puppets, marionettes, or one of the many modern forms of puppets. When you put them into action with your imagination, the magic of puppets will come alive!

Rainbow Bridge
Rainbow bridge was just a few bus-stops away and we headed there to take some photos as well. The Rainbow Bridge is constructed in July 2005 and was officially opened in September 2007, for only pedestrians and cyclists. Built in a S-shape, this 167m bridge connects the Neihu and Songshan districts and cost about NT$120 million to construct. The place was actually very quiet when we went there – we saw some people jogging around the area.
Yue Yue Bookstore - a birthplace of ideas.
Its architectural style belongs to the genre of Japanese Early Modernism, with emphasis placed on horizontal lines, simple classic shapes, and refined workmanship. The buildings were considered to be an exceptional model for industrial plants in that era.
Yue Yue Bookstore was the old kindergarten of the Songshan Park. In 2014, the drama "Lovestore at the Corner" (巷弄裡的那家書店) sets Yue Yue bookstore as the main scene of the story. Now, the whole scenario was reserved for a real bookstore as named Yue Yue Bookstore also.
Yue Yue Bookstore is a bookstore, cafe, and performance space all rolled into one great place.

LIULI, adopted from the phonetic Chinese spelling of the ancient Chinese term for glass art, is more than a material; more than a creative medium. LIULI is the embodiment of spirit and life.
In 2011 Chang and Yang united the extensive history of the former Songshan Tobacco Plant with Liuligongfang’s thirty years history of craft, design, film, media, fashion and dining and called it: LIULIGONGFANG‧SONGYAN.
Four years later they have launched the latest iteration: Mini Museum + LIULI Showroom + LIULI CAFÉ . Nestled among the lush greenery of Songshan Cultural Park, LIULIGONGFANG‧SONGYAN hopes for passersby to take a moment to ponder the significance and elements of culture within their lives.
LIULIGONGFANG‧SONGYAN is a three in one open concept without limitation, without definition. Open your ears to the voice of LIULI.

ABOUT TAIPEI 101
An outstanding landmark is enough to transform a city, e.g. the Empire State Building in New York City, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, or the new Jinmao Mansion in Shanghai. In the 21st century, Taipei needs a more expansive stage for a more brilliant performance. 101 stories above ground and 5 stories below, the 508-meter-tall Taipei 101 is an engineering feat that’s expected to bring Taipei to the world.
With the grand opening of the office tower, TAIPEI 101 hosted an inauguration ceremony on December 31, 2004 to celebrate the start of a new era. TAIPEI 101 is a major BOT project that represents the first joint effort between the Taipei City Government and the private sector. Backed by 10 businesses, the Taipei Financial Center (TFC) Corp. was established on July 7 and is the land developer responsible for the planning, implementation, operation and management of the project. The shareholders are 14 renowned domestic businesses.

Located in the finest district Taipei has to offer, TAIPEI 101 is the largest engineering project ever in the history of the Taiwan construction business. Supported by a dozen or so domestic businesses, the TFC Corp. was fortunate to have local and international experts in charge of the planning, and world-class architect C.Y. Lee was responsible for the design of the project. The design transcends the uni-body concept and is based on the Chinese number 8, a numeral long considered lucky in Chinese culture. Eight-floor structural units are connected one by one on top of each other to form the whole. This kind of rhythmic aesthetic is new to skyscrapers.
The sectional TAIPEI 101 employs a Mega Structure System for disaster and wind damage prevention. As every eight floor constitutes an autonomous space, wind effects on the surface seen in high-rise buildings are eliminated. The design of the foundation guarantees pedestrian safety and comfort. Resembling the flexible yet persistent bamboo that rises into the sky, the building is a reflection of traditional Chinese building philosophy. Inclining 7 degrees inwards, the structure increases in size as it gets higher. The transparent and non-reflective curtain walls are energy efficient and heat reflective, enabling those in Taiwan’s tallest building to have a clear view of the world around them. High-tech materials and innovative illumination creates a see-through effect with transparency and clarity that facilitates the harmony between the building and its natural environment.
The Hsinyi Planned District: A Sparkling Urban Gem
At present, the Hsinyi Planned District is Taipei’s only large-scale master-planned district. Its comprehensive structural plan has attracted numerous businesses and made it Taipei’s new city center. TAIPEI101 is located at the very center of the Hsinyi Planned District, its main building occupying around 30,277 square meters. The Hsinyi District features spacious boulevards, landscaped parks and lovely mountain views and is considered one of Taiwan’s most livable environments.
The Hsinyi Planned District’s comprehensively planned transportation system makes it an attractive destination for consumer automobile traffic. Around 30 public bus routes pass by the TAIPEI101 main entrance, and the building offers 1,800 parking spaces, with 7,000 additional spaces within a ten-minute walk. Entrance After buying tickets, visitors may watch the multimedia show or visit the souvenir Shop before riding the elevators.TAIPEI 101 Observatory’s elevators are Guinness Record-breaking high-speed pressurized elevators in 2004, with a speed of 1010 meters per minute. It takes only 37 seconds to reach the 89th Floor.
89F Indoor Observatory
At 382 meters above the ground the 89F Observation Floor offers visitors a commanding view of the city and Taipei Basin at all directions. The world’s largest damper, weighing 660 metric tons, is also exhibited at this level. The Observatory is equipped with high-power binoculars, drinks bar, image services & souvenir shops.
91F Outdoor Observatory
The Outdoor Observatory is only open on certain occasions and weather permitting. The Outdoor Observatory, accessible from the 89th Floor through a flight of stairs, offers a totally different viewing experience.
